Overall Education Practice

The Loose Parts Ideology Circle of Security

In a children’s education and care setting, loose parts are materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, taken apart and put back together in multiple ways.

They are materials with no specific set of directions that can be used alone or combined with other materials. Loose parts can be natural or synthetic.

At the heart of this ideology is the powerful image of the child. Listening to children’s theories enhances the possibility of discovering how children think and how they question and develop a relationship with reality.

This is magnified when it occurs within a group setting as it allows for the experience of all children to be shared, investigated and debated.

"When we first walked into warner early learning we had a warm, happy, safe feeling. This has only been proven time and time again as our girls growing up they become more and more excited to go to daycare. Thank you all for your awesomeness"
