Hi everyone, my name is Jess. I have been working in childcare for just over 2 years. I have always loved being around children and often babysat children in my home town and which is why I decided to study my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary).

While at University I was a nanny for 3 children which only made my passion for the early years grow stronger.  I graduated in 2016 and one day intend on doing my masters.

I grew up in a small country town in central QLD called Theodore. it’s a remote community and every chance I get I love to go home. My mum and dad both still live in Theodore and run their own company, my sister is a qualified chef and has also moved away from home.

I love to have fun with the children, as I still consider myself as a big kid! I love to sing, dance and smile. I will always try and find a fun and exciting way of learning that interests the children but also gives them a chance to ask questions and grow as an individual.

I have worked in all age groups as both a Lead Educator and an Assistant Educator. I believe that children learn best from hands on experience and this is why I love to get creative in messy play with the children. Getting messy also allows the children to develop sensory awareness. I enjoy allowing the children to challenge themselves in play to assist them build their own self-assessment skills. My motto is that children should be supported to develop the skills to enable life-long learning.

My family consists of Mum, dad, my brother, my nephew and myself. I am the youngest child. I also have a big extended family as my Mum is one of 7 and my dad is one of 4 and so I also have lots of cousins. I enjoy catching up with my family and friends when I can. I also enjoy travelling the world and experiencing different cultures.

Nicole Firth

Lead Educator

Hello my Name is Nicole and I'm the lead educator in the Junior Kindy room. I am 32 years old and a mother of 4 children.I come from an english background and was born in brisbane. I was brought up on the south side of Brisbane a little town called Jimboomba. As a little child my dream was to be a kindy teacher, I have always had this passion deep within my heart. I started working in the childcare industry at the age of 17, I then became a mum 2 years later and stayed home to nurture my 4 children.

I have had experience in every age group. In 2014 I started working on a casual basis at warner early learning, I then became full-time starting off in warner 1 as the assistant educator in the junior kindy room with a certificate 3 in childcare. As my passion grew stronger for teaching and caring for children, I decided to take the next chapter in my life and began my diploma. I finished this in 2017 where an exciting new role was offered as a lead educator in the junior kindy room in warner 2.

I began to understand my own teaching style that could help children in my age group play, grow and benefit from early learning. My teaching style is play based in the interests of the children. I find the children interest through communication, parent input and experiences, that may come about and I take this as a great opportunity to be able to intentionally teach and provide enriching experiences, this then enable the children to achieve a learning outcome in which they will benefit and grow. I believe as a senior lead educator its important to be able to understand the needs of the child for them able to learn and continue their early learning journey.

I have 5 years experience working with children of all ages in an education and care setting and I have enjoyed every bit of it.

When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my partner and our handsome little man who was born 16th February 2018.

My hobbies include breeding reptiles, which comes in handy to educate children about different species of reptiles. "I have 2 Children in Warner Early Learning and could not ask for a better centre. The quality of care is amazing, the educators are very attentive.  I have always felt comfortable and confident my children are getting the best care. I love how clean the centre is and how they do so much art with the kids, and then show it off within the rooms.

My son is now in Kindy and I can honestly not give the educators enough praise on how they are teaching him, and how much interest he is taking in learning. Every day I pick him up and he has learnt something new and is so interested in what he is being taught.

I cannot fault the centre. I love all the staff, they are always so friendly and happy to help in any way they can."
